Robert Charles Duvall

Robert Charles Duvall, 74, of Anna Maria, died July 7, 2017.

He was born Dec. 9, 1942, in Flint, Mich., to Robert and Frieda (Ruppel) Duvall.

Mr. Duvall is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judith (Davis) Duvall; children, Christopher, of Anna Maria, Matthew and wife Margret, of Evanston, Ill., Andrew, of New York, N.Y., and Francisco Becerril, of Tehucan, Mexico; grandchildren Eva and Julian, of Evanston Ill.; sisters Sharon Brewer, of Bad Axe, Mich., Mary Brinkman and husband William, of Decatur, Ala., and Barbara Duvall, of Largo, Fla.; and many extended family members and friends.

Mr Duvall received his MBA from Michigan State University and worked as a CPA in the Detroit area. He was affiliated with Wampum Hardware Co. in New Galilee, Pa., before his retirement to Tampa and Anna Maria. He was an avid golfer for many years and more recently enjoyed woodworking with friends in the Bradenton/Sarasota area.

Memorial contributions may be made to The ALS Association, Florida Chapter and Tidewell Hospice, Bradenton, Florida.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Jean Ann Tourt

Jean Ann Tourt, 88, died Aug. 1, 2017 at Sandwich Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

She was born Jan. 23, 1929, in Hempstead, N.Y., to Donald Rowe and Dorothy Gibbs. She graduated from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. in 1950 with a degree in nursing. She became a public health nurse in Nassau County New York. She was united in marriage to Thomas R. Tourt on Nov. 23 1953, and spent the next 53 years together until his passing. They moved to Oswego, Ill., in 1968. Jean was a Kendall County public health nurse and taught prenatal care, Lamaze class. She worked for weight control. She was a member of the Oswego Civic Center, Cancer Society. After retiring, they moved to Morrison, Ill., and then to Holmes Beach, Fla. She loved boating on the Mississippi River, golfing, tennis, skiing, cross country skiing, biking, jogging, jazzercise, quilting, tole painting, oil painting and water color painting. She was in the Hibiscus club in Florida. She collected and polished agates and collected miniature items and figures for a Victorian doll house. She was a member of the Church of Annunciation in Holmes Beach. Most of all, she loved playing the piano and organ, had a love for cats and loved meeting new people and made friends wherever she went.

She is survived by her lifelong friend, Bonnie Gulbrandsen, of Bradenton; her two sons Timothy R. (Fiance Maureen O’Malley), of Glen Ellyn, Ill., and Jeffrey S. (Cindy), of Yorkville, Ill.; her four grandchildren, Tyler J., Chad W. (Bethany), Zeb D.(Fiance Lindsey McDonald) and Bradley S.; and two great grandchildren, Hailee June and Clara Jean Tourt.

She is preceded in death by her half-sister, Jackie (Rowe) Ruxton; nephew, William Ruxton; father, Donald Rowe; stepmother, Lois Rowe; mother, Dorothy Gibbs Burke; stepfather, Richard Burke; and husband of 53 years, Thomas R. Tourt.
